    Chelsea's Response
    Hey Julia!

I really like this book you chose as your mentor text. For your first lesson, my only suggestion would be to have a bunch of examples of these different kinds of poems. Does it matter if poems rhyme or not? Does this effect how students' read the poems? For your second lesson, I think it would be really cool if you made up your own example of a story within a poem for your students to use. Great job!

    Hey Sam!

I really like this book you chose as your mentor text. For your first lesson, my only suggestion might be to have the students write down different things they might think the phone is. If the bee thinks it's a queen, what else could it be? For your second lesson, I would again have students make up their own thoughts about what the picture could be saying in regards to the text that surrounds it.

    Chelsea's Response
    Hey Jacq!

I really enjoy this mentor text. For your first mini lesson, I would suggest that maybe you could have your students come up with their own examples of how they would use the words in the text, or what they think 'wild rumpus' really is. What would they do if they were Max? Great job!

    Chelsea's Response
    Hey Gwen!
I really enjoyed your mentor text. I think for your first mini-lesson, it would be really cool if you could have your students make up their own sequences based off of what they saw in the book. For the second lesson, I like how you encourage the students to find these adjectives in the text, but one suggestion I have would to have the students themselves make lists of interesting words, and maybe put them into sentences? Great job!

    Chelsea's Response
    Hey Amy!
I really love the book you chose for your mentor text. It's so fun and interesting for students to get a good idea on the different kinds of letters to write! I think your first mini-lesson is really cool, and the only suggestion I could think of for you would to maybe model for students different types exaggerations you've made yourself? For your second mini-lesson, I think it would be cool if you could again, give your own examples for the students. Your final writing assignment seems very appropriate for this book, and I think it would work out really well! Nice job!
